Where are our goods manufactured?

We work closely with producers from the EU. The doors are produced in Poland, for example.

How do I choose my desired color?

Almost all fronts that do not have wood veneer can be customized in color. Choose your desired color from the NCS or RAL color palette and enter it in the comment field when booking.

Please note that we cannot accept returns of products in custom colors. The terms and conditions can be found in our General Terms and Conditions and Shipping Policy.

Do you offer custom-made furniture doors?

This depends on the individual order volume. Please contact us via our contact form or by email: hello@aboutshelves.com

Do you also offer custom-made cover plates?

Yes, we also offer custom-made cover plates. Feel free to contact us via our contact form and we will prepare an individual offer for you.

Can I attach two standard doors one above the other to a large shelf unit?

That's not possible with a normal-sized Billy* bookshelf (202 cm height). However, it is possible if you have installed the additional top unit (237 cm height). In that case, you would have an open section in the middle of the shelf.

Which Billy* models are our doors suitable for?

Our doors fit directly onto Billy shelves from spring 2014 onwards.

For older models, the hinge holes must be pre-drilled by yourself (template available on request).

What are your delivery times?

Delivery times vary by product and are displayed with each variant. For most cabinet fronts, the delivery time is 4-5 weeks for shipping within Germany. Products that are in stock are marked with a shorter delivery time accordingly.

Are hinges included?

Yes, we will provide you with the necessary soft-close hinges to match your furniture fronts. These will fit exactly into the pre-drilled holes of your Billy bookshelf (from model year 2014 onwards). These are not original IKEA hinges.

What tools do I need to install the shelf doors?

You only need a Phillips head screwdriver.

Are there material samples?

Would you like to take a closer look at our fronts before making a decision? No problem! Simply order a sample here and get a first impression of the quality and appearance of our high-quality furniture fronts.

What is your return policy?

You can return items from our product range to us within 30 days of receiving the goods.

Returns are free of charge for you.

It is important that the goods are unused, unassembled, and in perfect condition. Please return the items to us in their original box so that they arrive safely and undamaged at our warehouse. Unfortunately, we cannot refund damages caused by improper or missing packaging.

Excluded from returns are items in custom colors and special orders (e.g., custom-made sizes), as these are produced specifically for you.

After receiving and inspecting your return, we will refund the purchase amount to you within 7 business days using the original payment method.

We are big fans of the classic IKEA Billy* bookcase and offer modern furniture fronts in our shop that you can easily attach to your Billy* bookcase. This way, you give your bookshelf a new, modern look.
